“Guided into meditation by Greg this year, I’ve discovered how this practice can be the center of a steady and healthy rhythm of daily life. Through my experiences meditating, I’ve come to understand how it deepens one’s mindfulness. In addition, McSherry Hall is to me one of the warmest places on campus, with its soothing candles, simplicity, and the gentle conversation that occurs inside. Though the John Main Center was founded in the Christian tradition, its encouragement of inter-religious dialogue profoundly reflects one of my favorite aspects of Georgetown’s Jesuit tradition – embracing and being enriched by many faith traditions.”
Christina Piazza, a freshman in Georgetown College, is from New York. She is fascinated by a wide range of subjects but particularly likes music. Most of her days involve adventuring around the DC area and meditating at the John Main Center.
